Three Nigerian lecturers, Dr. Aliyu Isa Aliyu, Tukur Abdulkadir Sulaiman, and Abdullahi Yusuf, have been listed among the top 2% most-cited scientists in the world.

The list, published in August 2021, was compiled by a team of researchers led by Prof. John Loannidis at the Stanford University, California.

The list includes over 100,000 researchers selected among more than 8 million scientists in 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields across the globe.

The three young scholars were among the beneficiaries of the Kano State Government Foreign Scholarship during the tenure of Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso from 2011 to 2014. They were sponsored in 2012 for a master’s degree at the Jordan University of Science and Technology, Irbid, Jordan.
