Cursory: 80-Year-Old Woman, traveled by flight for the first time in her life to witness the graduation ceremony of her granddaughter.
Shana Otieno, a young lady who recently graduated from the United States International University (USIU) with a degree in Journalism and Public Relations, flew her grandmother over to witness her graduation.
The young woman revealed that she spared no effort to bring her grandmother over to witness the moment because she always there for her.
Shana admits that her story has had various heroines and heroes, but her grandmother stood out for her because of her great love for family.
She said that her grandmother was strong support to her Mom and her when her father died.
“It was tough. My mum was her only daughter, and she was really a backup to her when my dad passed away,” said Shana.
She also revealed that her grandmother came and helped nurse her mother back to health when she was ill.
After clearing her primary education, Shana stayed at home for two years, and when her grandmum got wind of it, she sent in for her.
On arriving, she discovered that she had devised a means to help her pay her fees. At some point, they had trekked 16km together to beg for school fees.
She revealed that the 80-year-old would sell chicken, save up fare, and was with them when their house burnt down.
“I love this woman, I bless the Lord for the opportunity to share in the life of a strong believer of hard work, discipline, and humility. My prayer warrior may you live longer,” she said.
