“On behalf of the federal government and the entire citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I sincerely congratulate the chancellor, the pro-chancellor and the council, the vice chancellor and the senate, the staff and students of this young but vibrant academic institution for their exemplary leadership.

I must admit that my government is genuinely impressed with the ability of the university to maintain sustainable peace, stability and enviable academic growth since inception in 2012. I am profoundly impressed by the demonstration of excellence in the general conduct of the affairs of this university,” he said.

The president said he was impressed that the university’s new leadership had succeeded in the last five years in sustaining the tempo of rapid development “which was a manifestation of incredible dedication to the academia on the part staff and students of the university, particularly the Vice Chancellor, Professor Fatima Mukhtar, who has proven beyond reasonable doubt, the capability of Nigerian woman for competitiveness and competence in all walks of national life.”

He said as one of the few female VCs in the country, Prof Mukhtar has shown some remarkable skills in the management of the complex institution by propelling its transformation into an accomplished citadel of learning in a very short period.
