FUTA Notice to 2022/2023 Aspirants on New Admission Method

FUTA notice to prospective students on a new method of an admission screening method for the 2022/2023 session.

This is to inform the general public especially JAMB UTME prospective students of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) that the school management has announced a new method of admission screening for the 2022/2023 session.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the University’s Registrar, Mr. Richard Adeyinka Arifalo, and published on the University’s official Facebook page.

According to the school authorities, they will now admit students strictly based on their JAMB UTME and O’level results.

Giving reasons why they won’t be using the Post UTME results, the management said it was due to some hitches some candidates faced during the examination.

The statement reads in full:

STATEMENT ON THE 2022 POST UTME SCREENING EXERCISE
The Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA has reviewed its recently concluded Post UTME Screening Exercise held between Tuesday 15th and Thursday 17th November, 2022 and hereby makes the following Statement:

  1. After the conclusion of the exercise and painstaking review of the process, it was confirmed that there were some instances of technical glitches which invariably affected the fidelity of score of some candidates; some positively and some negatively.
  2. It was noted that the technical glitches were not enough to invalidate the entire process.
  3. However out of abundance of caution, and in order to ensure that no candidate is put at any disadvantage whatsoever, and also to place all candidates on level playing field for the purpose of consideration for admission, the University management has decided that the ongoing admission process will be based on and determined by candidates’ UTME Score and SSCE/GCE Results or their equivalents.
  4. The University takes full responsibility for the glitches and tenders its unreserved apology.

(Signed)
Mr. R. A. Arifalo
Registrar

Thanks for the review of the post UTME. Please l want ask for the of modalities for the allotment of marks for the UTME and SSCE results to make up for the 100 marks.

Additionally, those who have done change of institution due to the glitches, can they still return back to FUTA, now that the desired correction has been made?
