Cursory: A female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member has been overpaid her monthly allowance. The NYSC monthly pay the sum of N30,000 to corp members serving across the whole 36 states of the country. In a viral social media video, a female NYSC Corp member raised an alarm that she was paid the sum of N330,000 instead of N33,000.
A previously unidentified member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has recently disclosed that she received an overpayment of her regular monthly allowance. The NYSC provides a monthly allowance of N33,000 to corps members to support their living expenses during their service in different states.
However, according to a report by The Nation, the individual, whose name is still undisclosed, revealed in a viral video that she mistakenly received a sum of N330,000 instead of the usual N33,000.
In the video, which has been circulating on social media platforms, the corps member, dressed in the recognizable NYSC uniform of a white shirt and the iconic peak cap, expressed her confusion and sought advice from viewers.
She shared, “Hi guys, this morning I received N330,000 instead of N33,000 allowance and I don’t know what to do ooo.
“I don’t know if I should go to the bank and complain or I should go to my local government and complain. I’m confused.”
Since 2018, the NYSC has been providing corps members with a monthly allowance of N33,000 to cover their living expenses and transportation costs within the city where they are serving.
