JAMB/UTME SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR BANKING AND FINANCE

Below is the UTME/JAMB Subject combination for Banking and Finance in in Faculty of Social Sciences

English Language(*), Mathematics, one Social Science subject and any other subject.

Please note that the UTME subject combination above  is same for the courses below in faculty of Social/Management Sciences;

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

  • CUAB, KWASU and BENIN require Economics, Mathematics and any other subject.
  • NILE and AJAYI – Same as in Accounting.
  • BABCOCK accepts Commerce in lieu of   Mathematics
  • SALEM and WESTERN-DEL require Mathematics, Economics and any other Social Science subject.
  • LASU requires Economics and one of Government or Geography.
  • AL-HIKMAH accepts Commerce in lieu of Mathematics or Economics.
  • Principles of Account, Commerce, Government.
  • ABUJA requires Economics/Commerce, Mathematics and any other Social Science/ Commercial Subject.
  • PAN-ATLANTIC accepts Principles of Accounting in lieu of Mathematics.
  • UNIKINGS – Same as in Accounting
  • BELLS accepts Mathematics and any two (2) Social Science subjects.
  • MOUNTAIN TOP requires Mathematics, Accounts and Economics.
  • ABU requires Use of English, Economics, mathematics and any Management or Social Science Subject.
  • BELLS requires  Mathematics, Economics and any other subject from Geography, Government,Commerce or Accounting.
  • KASU requires Economics, Mathematics and one other subject.
  • LANDMARK requires Mathematics,Economics any other Commercial/ Social Science.

O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR BANKING AND FINANCE

Below is the UTME Requirement for Banking and Finance  in Faculty of Social Sciences

Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) other relevant subjects.

Please note that the UTME requirement (O’level combination) above  is same for the courses below in faculty of Social/Management Sciences;

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

  • CONVENANT – Same as in Accounting
  • UNIOSUN requires five (5)’O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Economics are compulsory with ‘O’ Level credit passes inat least two (2) other subjects from Geography, Government, Accounts and Book-Keeping at one sitting.
  • EBSU and REDEEMERS same as in Accountancy.
  • GOUU and WESTERN-DEL same as in Accounting
  • NDU
     a. Banking, Finance and Insurance require five (5)’O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any two (2) of the following; Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Government, Geography and Statistics
      b. Office Management Technology requires five (5)’O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Economics, and three (3) other subjects.
  • LASU requires two (2) other subjects from Principles of Account, Commerce and Office Practice.
  • RHEMA accepts ND in Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Financial Studies, Agricultural Economics or NCE in Economics/Business Studies with the UTME requirements.
  • CUAB requires five (5)’O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any two (2) of the following: Commerce,   Geography and Statistics.
  • FUNAAB requires two (2)’O’ Level credit passes from any of Principles of Account, Commerce, Government or Geography.
  • SOUTHWESTERN for Business Administration requires two (2) of Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Government, Geography, and Statistics as other relevant subjects.
  • UNIKINGS – Same as in Accounting
  • CHRISTOPHER requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, one Science subject and any one of Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Government, Geography or Statistics.
  • BELLS require five (5)’O’ Level credit passes at one or two (2) sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) subjects.
  • EUI requires five (5) credit passes at SSC or its equivalent including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) other relevant subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
  • LCITY requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics/Commerce and any other two (2) subjects.
  • MOUNTAIN TOP   requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two subjects from the following: Geography, Biology, Commerce, Government, Account and Book-keeping.
  • ABU requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any other two (2) Subjects.
  • BELLS requires Five (5) SSC credit passes includingEnglish Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) other relevant subjects.
  • KASU requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two other subjects.
  • LANDMARK requires Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics,Commercial subject and at least a pass in science subject or a credit level pass in ,social science.

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR BANKING AND FINANCE

Below is the Direct Entry requirement for Banking and Finance in in Faculty of Social Sciences

  • Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Accounting or Economics and one (1) other subject.
  • NCE merit in relevant subjects.
  •  ND credit.
  • Foundation International exam such as ICAN, ACCA, ICMA, GPFA.

Please note that the Direct Entry (DE) requirement (O’level combination) above  is same for the courses below in faculty of Social/Management Sciences;

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

  • GOUU, AJAYI and NILE – As in Accounting.
  • CUAB accepts
         a. Two (2)’A’ Level passes to include Mathematics and either Economics or Accounts
         b. IJMB at acceptable grades.
         c. NCE credit, ND, HND lower credit and approved equivalent may be admitted to the appropriate level.
  • LASU requires two (2)’A’ Level passes chosen from Accounting, Economics, Business Management,Mathematics and Statistics.  LASU accepts’A’ Level pass in Government. ND/HND not admissible for Direct Entry.
  • BIU same as in Accounting.
  • OOU acceptsPart I Chartered Institute of Bankers.
  • UNIOSUN accepts ‘A’ Level passes in Economics and any one of Geography, Government and Accounting. ND lower credit in relevant programmes. Candidates with ICAN, ACCA (London), CIMA (UK), CIBN, CITN and other members of IFAC may be considered.
  • CALABAR accepts ND in Banking and Finance.
  • BENIN – in addition to the UTME requirements, requires two (2)’A’ Levelpasses including Economics; ND upper credit in Accounting, Business Studies or Financial Studies;  HND lower credit in Accounting , Financial Studies, Business Studies or Banking and Finance; NCE merit with ‘O’ Level credit pass in Economics or  Business Studies; Associate Institute of Bankers (Part 1). Accepts HND lower credit or merit in relevant Programme.
  • WESTERN-DEL same as in Accounting
  • CALEB accepts ND credit in Accounting, Banking, Financial Studies, or ATS, ICAN may be considered for admission by Direct Entry provided they have the UTME requirements at one sitting.
  • BAYERO does not accept Chemistry, Physics, Agricultural Science and History.
  • JOS accepts ND lower credit in Business Administration, Accounting, Purchasing and Supply, Marketing and other related programmes.
  • NDU requires five (5)’O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any two (2) other subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
  • SOUTHWESTERN accepts
     a. NCE merit in relevant subjects.
     b. ND in Management, Marketing, Accounting and Banking/Finance with a minimum of ‘B’ overall average.
     c. Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Accounting or Economics and any one other subjects
     d. IJMB/NCE/ND/Banking Certificate/ CIBN course or approved equivalent.
  • ABUJA accepts two (2) ‘A’ Levelpasses in Economics and any of Social Science and Management or ND upper credit in relevant programmes in   addition to the UTME requirements.
  • UNIKINGS – Same as in Accounting.
  • ODUDUWA accepts NCE merit, ND credit or Foundation International examinations such as ICAN, ACCA, ICMA, GPFA.
  • CHRISTOPHER requires two (2)’A’ Level passes chosen from Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Government, Statistics and Geography. Accepts HND, ND or NCE credits in relevant subjects.
  • EUI accepts;
    a)    Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Accounting or Economics and one other subject.
    b)   NCE with passes at merit level in relevant subjects.
    c)    ND/HND at credit level in related discipline.
    d)   Very good passes in JUPEB/IJMB subjects.
  • MOUNTAIN TOP in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements requires candidates to:
    a)  Possess three (3) ‘A’ Level passes in the relevant commercial courses acceptable to the University or Foundation/JUPEB obtained from Mountain Top University or other recognized Universities.
    b)  Possess OND Lower Credit in relevant courses including Finance, Insurance, Banking and other Financial Studies courses.
    c)  Possess National Certificate of Education, Merit in relevant courses including Finance, Banking and other Financial Studies courses.
    d) Possess Final level pass of ICAN-ATS and Foundation pass of recognized professional bodies such as ICAN, ACCA (London), CIMA (UK), CIBN, CITN, CIS and others who are members of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
  • ABU accepts Two ‘A’ Level / IJMB passes in Management/Social Science Subjects one of which must be Economics. A Minimum Merit in ABU Diploma in Insurance, Management, Banking or Accounting.
  • BELLS accepts Two (2) A level passes in Accounting or Economics and one (1) other subject.NCE merit in relevant subjects.ND credit.Foundation International exam such as ICAN, ACCA, ICMA, GPFA.
  • KASU accepts Two ‘A’ level passes chosen from Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Statistics and Mathematics.HND/ND Lower Credit and NCE merit in related Discipline.
  • LANDMARK accepts Two (2) A level passes in Accounting or Economics and one (1) other subject.NCE merit in relevant subjects.ND credit.Foundation International exam such as ICAN, ACCA, ICMA, GPFA.
