In JAMB, what is the meaning of Special Consideration (Waiver)??

It means, additional requirement for a particular course in a particular school. If your school have a special consideration for either O’level Requirement, UTME Subject Combination or Direct Entry Requirement, then please take note of it.

Note sometimes in special consideration column, the school requirement might be slight different from the general requirement. We advice you know your desired school’s special consideration for your course. ITS NECESSARY else you might be denied admission.

UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR SOIL SCIENCE

Below is the UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION for Soil Science in faculty of Agriculture/Vet. medicine;

  • English Language(*), Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science plus Mathematics or Physics.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENT (WAIVER) REMARK

  • SALEM requires Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Physics.
  • MAUTY requires Biology/Agricultural Science and any other two (2) of Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economics or Mathematics.
  • FUTO requires Chemistry, and any two (2) of Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and Physics.

UTME/O’level REQUIREMENT FOR SOIL SCIENCE

Below is the UTME Requirement for Soil Science in faculty of Agriculture/Vet. medicine;

  • Five SSCE credit passes in English Language Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any other Science subject..

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:

  • RSUST requires at least ‘O’ Level pass in Physics.
  • RSUST and CALABAR – as in Animal Science.
  • IMSU accepts ‘O’ Level pass in English Language.
  • ABSU same as Crop Production and Protection.
  • EBSU same as in Soil Science
  • UMUDIKE same as in Agricultural Economics.
  • CALABAR requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Physics.
  • MINNA – Same as in Water Resources, Aquaculture and Fisheries Technology.
  • MAKURDI – Same as in Crop Production.
  • FUNAAB as in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development.
  • MAUTY requires Five (5) O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and any one from Physics/Geography/Economics.
  • FUTO requires At least five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any other subject, in not more than two (2) sittings. At least a Pass is required

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR SOIL SCIENCE

Below is the DIRECT ENTRY (DE) Requirement for Soil Science in faculty of Agricultural/Vet. Medicine;

Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any other Science subject.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:

  • Minna accepts ND/NCE with a minimum of credit in Agriculture or ND/NCE with TC II credit in Agriculture/Mathematics, General. Science/Integrated Science or Agricultural Science/Biology
  • Minna accepts credit in ND/NCE Agriculture into 200 levels while those with HND are accepted into 300 levels.
  • BENIN, DELSU, IMSU and UMUDIKE as in Agriculture.
  • MAUTY accepts Two `A’ Level credit passes in Chemistry and  Biology. OND/HND with lower credit passes in Agric. Science or any other relevant field. IJMB 7 points in Biology/Agric. Sci., Chemistry, Physics/ Geography at credit level.
  • CALABAR – Same as in Agricultural Economics.
  • RSUST – As in Animal Science.
  • BENIN as in Agricultural Economics.
  • UNN same as in Agricultural Economics and Extension.
  • OAU does not accept Geography, Geology and Health Science and accepts HND/ND in Agriculture obtained at upper credit level from recognized Institution.
  • JABU accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any other from Physics, Economics and Mathematics. ND/NCE upper credit in relevant areas.
  • CALABAR accepts HND, ND/NCE credit level passes in Agriculture and related sciences.
  • MAKURDI – Same as in Crop Production.
  • FUNAAB as in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development.
  • EBSU accepts
    a) two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and one of Zoology/ Botany/Agric science/Biology, Agricultural science and other science subjects.
    b) NCE with minimum merit passes in relevant subjects
    c) HND and ND with minimum of upper credit in relevant program.
  • (xvi) FUTO accepts;
    a) At least two (2) A’ level passes not below Grade C in Chemistry and any one of Zoology, Botany, Agricultural Science, Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Economics.
    b) OND/HND at Upper Credit in Life Sciences.
    c) First Degree in Life Sciences.
    d) Very good passes in three JUPEB subjects namely Chemistry and any two (2) of   Biology/ Agricultural Science, Mathematics and Physics. It does not accept NCE. Candidates must in addition meet the ‘O’ Level requirements.
