Kind Nigerian Man Remembers His Schoolmate Who Accommodated Him For 3 months, Gifts Him N1m 18 Years Later

A kind Nigerian businessman, Dr. Stephen Akintayo, has blessed his old Schoolmate by putting a smile on his face, and gave him N1million for allowing him to stay with him for 3-months for free in School.

A man’s kindness to a needy student 18 years ago has paved the way for him. Nigeria’s real estate mogul, Dr Stephen Akintayo, the recipient of the kind gesture shared how he had needed accommodation as a freshman at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun in the year 2004.

As Reported by, His mother had taken him to a C & S church located in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun with the hope that the church would accommodate Stephen but was disappointed by the prophet who told them that they couldn’t help.

In a lengthy post he shared on his Instagram page, Stephen said amid that dilemma in getting a place to stay he remembered Bode.

Bode is an old student of the institution he met on a bus. They happened to have chatted and exchanged contacts during that short interaction on the bus. Stephen said he rang Bode and pleaded if he could stay in his place temporarily.

His post reads:

How I gave 1 million Naira to the Man who allow me share his room for 3 months in OOU.

It was the year 2004 (18Years Ago) I was going to my new university for the first time with my late mum, may her soul rest in peace. In her usual manner, she does not need to know anyone in any city, she only goes first to the C&S church in that city.

In the bus I met Bode who was going to 200 level and we chatted briefly and I got his phone number.

When we got to C & S Ago-Iwoye, my mother requested that the prophet allow me stay till I can get an Accomodation and he said no space. We didn’t know anyone in Ago -Iwoye except the new friend Bode I met in the bus.

I called him and ask if I could stay in his place temporarily, he didn’t think about it, he said come. He didn’t know me from anywhere but allowed me stay. I made sure I wasn’t a parasite as we shared a lot together till I got my own room 3 months later.

It was shocking to see him sited in Ibadan Upgrade Summit. I had to reward his kindness 18 years ago with a token of 1 million naira that day. I never knew he needed money seriously. He visited me today in our Banana Island office with tears of gratitude.

He said to me, “When I read your book Billionaire Habits, I kept recalling your bold words on Campus, we all thought you were a little bit crazy. They have all come to pass bigger than you prophesied “.

The Lesson;
Remember those GOD used on your way to the top and appreciate them while they are alive. Don’t wait till they die. Thank you Bode for being a good man! You don’t know how far people will go, treat them the best way you can today before they get to the top.
