Cursory: 16-year-old Ifechukwudeni Oweh is living the dream life of a lot of folks after he was chosen for a 4 months Internship program with Apple, one of the biggest Companies in the world. See his journey below.
Ifechukwudeni Oweh, a brilliant 16-year-old from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, has just been offered a four-month internship with Apple, one of the world’s largest and most innovative technology companies.
According to Tarleton News, the official news outlet of Tarleton University in Texas, Oweh will be working in software engineering, specifically with Apple’s wireless technologies and ecosystem team.
During his internship, Teddy, as he’s known to his friends, will be analyzing data from Apple devices in order to improve embedded artificial intelligence and machine learning systems.
Teddy graduated from Chokhmah International Academy in Port Harcourt at just 14 years old, and after spending a year working for software companies in Nigeria and improving his coding skills, he moved to the United States to pursue his bachelor’s degree.
At Tarleton, he’s been researching algorithms for machine learning models in the school’s Department of computer science and electrical engineering, studying disease spread using stochastic processes on networks and differential equations in the Department of Mathematics, and working on computational modeling for the Tarleton Texas Institute for Applied Environmental Research to support environmental and agricultural advancements.
Rafael Landaeta, the dean of the College of Engineering at Tarleton University, said, “This is a huge achievement for Teddy and it confirms that Tarleton’s engineering programs are among the best in the nation. Our faculty and student researchers are breaking boundaries and achieving breakthroughs, and Teddy is leading the way.” It’s worth noting that this internship is the first of its kind for the university since its founding in 1899.
We’re thrilled to see young talents like Teddy making waves in the tech industry and paving the way for future generations. We wish him all the best in his upcoming internship with Apple, and we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes in the field of computer science. Teddy, keep up the great work – the future is bright for you!
