A principal with Imaguero Senior Secondary School in Oredo Local Government Local Government Area of Edo State has been demoted to a classroom teacher.

The Edo State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Joan Oviawe, reportedly approved the demotion of the Principal (name withheld) over a “personal disagreement” during her visit to the school on March 2.
During the commissioner’s visit to the school, the principal was said to have found it difficult to arrange for the setting up of a generator set for the Biometric registration exercise for the West African Senior Secondary School Examinations (WASSCE) Candidates.
The development was said to have resulted to a minor argument.
A teacher in the school, who craved anonymity, claimed that the principal was demoted without a query.
The affected principal could not be reached for comment on the development.
Responding to the development, the commissioner for Education challenged the demoted principal to disclose details of what happened.
“Why would I have a personal disagreement with a teacher? That is ludicrous. The teacher should please state what happened,” the commissioner said in response to a text message sent be Daily Trust.
