2. Single Hons Degree Programme in French, German & Russian with Special Remedial Courses (will be called PROGRAMME B).

In this page, we are going to show you the UTME subject combination, O’level & Direct Entry (DE) requirement for Modern Languages in the Faculty of Arts. We will also show you the special consideration (waiver) for the course.

In JAMB, what is the meaning of Special Consideration (Waiver)??

It means, an additional requirement for a particular course in a particular school. If your school have a special consideration for either O’level Requirement, UTME Subject Combination or Direct Entry Requirement, then please take note of it.

Note sometimes in special consideration column, the school requirement might be slight different from the general requirement. We advice you know your desired school’s special consideration for your course. ITS NECESSARY else you might be denied admission.

UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR MODERN LANGUAGES

Below is the UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION for MODERN LANGUAGES in faculty of Arts and Humanities.

• For Programme A, English Language, French and any other two (2) subjects.
• For Programme B, English Language, any three (3) subjects.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

• (i) LAGOS requires English Language and any three Arts, Science or Social Sciences.
• (ii) UNIZIK accepts any three (3) Arts or Social Science subjects.

O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR MODERN LANGUAGES

Below is the UTME Requirement for MODERN LANGUAGES in faculty of Arts and Humanities;

• For Programme A: five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language and French.
• For Programme B: credit passes in English Language and four (4) other subjects.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

• (i) LAGOS requires Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three Arts, Science or Social Sciences. Social Studies and Civic Education are also accepted.
• LASU may accept any other Arts/Social Science subject in lieu of Yoruba.

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR MODERN LANGUAGES

Below is the Direct Entry Requirement for MODERN LANGUAGES in faculty of Arts and Humanities;

• For Programme A: Two (2) ‘A’ level passes or NCE French.
• For Programme B: Two (2) ‘A’ level passes or NCE in any subjects.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

• (i) LAGOS – does not accept Direct Entry.
• (ii) UNN accepts French only: Passes in French and any other subject at NCE, ‘A’ Levels plus ‘O’ Level credit pass in English Language or its equivalent.
• (iii) UNN requires for Programme B, ‘A’ Level passes in History or Literature in English and four (4) other subjects.
