The suspect, an extra year student, gained access to exam centers and took students’ phones. When his activities were exposed, students apprehended him while campus security intervened.
A video circulating on social media depicts the arrest of an individual who reportedly posed as a supervisor and stole phones during an examination at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife, Osun state.
According to reports, the suspect was an extra year student who remained on campus to complete some carryover courses. Under the pretense of being an exam invigilator, he gained access to the examination centers and began taking students’ phones without their knowledge.
However, the undergraduates soon discovered he doing and exposed him by chanting “Ole Ole!” (meaning thief).
A video surfaced online, capturing the moment the students apprehended him while campus security personnel intervened and took him into custody.
Subsequently, the fake supervisor was handed over to the police authorities to face legal consequences for his actions.
