University of Benin (UNIBEN) Approved Academic Calendar for 2021/2022 & 2022/2023 Academic Sessions has been released.
We are pleased to inform the public especially new and returning students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) that the school management has released the approved Academic calendar for the continuation of 2021/2022 and Commencement of 2022/2023 academic Sessions.
The University of Benin Senate at its Special Meeting held on Thursday 16th March, 2023 approved the amendment of the Academic Calendars for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 Academic sessions.

- Tuesday 21st March, 2023 > Students return to halls of residence
- Wednesday 22 March, 2023 > First Semester lectures continue
- Monday 27th March, 2023 >Online registration of new students 2022/2023 academic session begins
- Friday 28th April to Friday 5th May, 2023 > 2021/2022 Matriculation (Online)/Revision
- Monday 8th to Friday 12th May, 2023 > First Semester Examinations begin in Faculties of Education, Engineering, Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Physical Sciences
- Saturday 13th May, 2023 > CED Examinations
- Monday 15th May, 2023 > First Semester Examinations begin in all other Faculties/Schools/institutes
- Thursday 25th to Saturday 27th May, 2023 > General Studies Examinations
- Sunday 28 May to Friday 2 June,2023 > Students (2021/2022 session) go on break
- Saturday 3 June, 2023 > New students for the 2022/2023 session admitted to halls of residence
- Saturday 10 June, 2023 > Returning students (2021/2022 session) return to halls of residence

- Second Semester lectures begin in all Faculties/Schools/Institutes for the 2021/2022 academic session
- First Semester lectures begin in all Faculties/Schools/Institutes for the 2022/2023 academic session

- Monday 21st to Friday 25th August, 2023 > 2022/2023 Matriculation (Online)/Revision

- Second Semester Examinations begin in Faculties of Education, Engineering. Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Physical Sciences (2021/2022 session)
- First Semester Examinations begin in Faculties of Education, Engineering, Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Physical Sciences (2022/2023 session)
- Saturday 2nd September, 2023 > CED Examinations
- Monday 4th September, 2023 > Second Semester Examinations begin in all other Faculties/Schools/Institutes (2021/2022 session) • First Semester Examinations begin in all other Faculties/Schools/Institutes (2022/2023 session)
- Saturday 16th September, 2023 > General Studies Examination
- Sunday 17th September, 2023 > Students go on break
Lectures started for returning students 9th January, 2023– Duration of Lectures before close of Institutions: 6 weeks and 2 days,
Lectures started for new students 16th January, 2023 – Duration of Lectures before close of Institutions: 5 weeks 2 days.
